A Partnership Built on Community
THE PLAYERS' commitment to this challenge continues a partnership with The DONNA Foundation that began in 2009 with the inaugural THE PLAYERS DONNA 5K.
Over 17 race events together, more than 20,000 athletes have celebrated survivorship across the finish line, while the 5K and initiatives including Chip in for Charity and Birdies for Charity have helped raise $780,000 in support of The DONNA Foundation's mission.
This Matching Gift Challenge is the next chapter in a partnership rooted in a shared commitment to giving back and strengthening our community.
A Gift Inspired by the Journey
For the Chartrand Family, this challenge is personal.
Meredith Chartrand Frisch is a breast cancer survivor who, just two years after recovering from a bilateral mastectomy during DONNA Marathon Weekend, returned to the event in 2026 to complete her first marathon alongside a friend and fellow survivor.
Her family was there to cheer her across the finish line.
